BESM perfectly describes this entire
class / genre of games. It's a fairly
loose grouping held together by the
japanese animation style known as
anime, with the biggest segment
targeting the pre-teen crowd.

Another favorite straight off of the video screen
is Dragon Ball Z. In this format, youngster are
encouraged to read, imagine and interact much
more than on the TV or a Play Station.

Yu-Gi-Oh! shows how this genre
can be repackaged with new rules,
and new characters, and yet be as
familiar as the big eyes and small
mouth of Kimba the White Lion.
